In Taraba State, a controversial judgment which handed Mrs Aisha Alhassan the governor seat of the state, had been upturned in the favour of Darius Ishaku. As if the Taraba case was not enough, later in the same day of 31st December, the last day of the year 2015, another bombshell of a judgment just dropped in Owerri, the capital of Imo State. The Appeal Court sitting in the city of Owerri had handed another sack judgment to Victor Okezie Ikpeazu of the PDP to vacate the governor's seat for Alex Otti of APGA.

Just as many were still dwelling in the astonishment of the controversial judgment that handed the victory of Taraba State Governor to Sen. Aisha Jummai Alhassan, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has cancelled the purported victory by the election tribunal. Mrs. Aisha Alhassan (a.k.a. Mama Taraba) the candidate of the All Peoples Congress, was declared winner on November 7, 2015 in a unanimous decision by the tribunal judges, where the Taraba State Governorship Election Tribunal nullified the election of Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party.
