President Buhari Fires 17 Permanent Secretaries And Appoints New Ones: See List

                                 President Muhammadu Buhari

November 10, 2015 had a distinct headline which pervaded all news media that President Muhammadu Buhari has given matching order to 17 permanent secretaries in selected different federal ministries of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to Sahara Reporters, the senior civil servants were given the boot after a meeting with President Buhari, the chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari, and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita.
According to the source, all permanent secretaries who had put in more than four years were dropped. And according to Vanguard reports, those known to have questionable records of service were also not spared in the sweeping changes.
Earlier this year, the Ahmed Joda Transition Committee Report recommended that the Buhari administration should reduce the number of ministries and adopt cost-saving measures to revive the Nigerian economy.
