Dream Team VI celebrating their victory with Coach Samson Siasia
Another score of success by the Nigerian team onward Rio Olympic in 2016 has been achieved. On 12th December 2015, Nigeria’s Dream Team VI have won the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal. A brace by Etebo Oghenekaro ensured that Samson Siasia’s boys came out victorious against a very organised Algeria.
Etebo gave Nigeria the lead from the penalty spot in the twelfth minute after he was fouled in the 18-yard-box. Algeria drew level via an own goal by Oduduwa Segun whose header diverted Fehat’s cross into his own net.
Etebo struck again in the 40th minute as he powered his way through to goal from the centre, slotting the ball past the Algerian goal keeper. It ended Nigeria 2 – 1 Algeria.
