One of the sons of late Nigerian human rights activist, Brigadier General Enitan Ransome-Kuti, has been dealt with by the Nigerian Army for failing to perform his duties in relation to the war against Boko Haram.

According to Sahara Reporters, Brigadier General Kuti has been under investigation by the Nigerian army for failing in his military duties. His alleged indifference to official duties during the fight against Boko Haram is said to have resulted in the militants’ capture of Baga, the center of a multinational force.
The Brigadier General has been sentenced to six months in prison by the Nigeria Army Court-Martial for some of these offenses he allegedly committed during the war against Boko Haram. He was also charged for not being able to take responsibilities of the weapons and ammunition under his supervision, thereby making the Nigerian army a toothless dog in the war against the terror group.

Although the Brigadier General denied all the charges leveled against him during the trial which has been on for a while, it was made known that he would be dismissed from the Army if the sentence pronounced on him by the military court in Abuja yesterday, Thursday, October 15,  is confirmed by the Nigerian Army.
However, Femi Falana, who is his lawyer, during all the trials has shown the court evidences suggesting that it is the Nigerian army that did not provide necessary equipment for the Brigadier General to perform his lawful duties. The lawyer also got speeches of other officers who said that the army does not have adequate equipment to fight Boko Haram.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian army announced that it was going to review the cases of soldiers dismissed from service over cowardice, insubordination, mutiny and related allegations.
