Over Twenty-One Billion Naira (N21.27Bln) Raised For President Jonathan's Re-election Campaign!

           President Jonathan and other Nigerian Leaders (from PDP) at the Fund-raising Dinner last night in Abuja.

The Nigerian ruling political party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Fund Raising Dinner recorded over twenty-one billion naira (N21billion) gathered for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election activities in 2015.

The event which was held yesterday, December 20, 2014, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, recorded high turnout of chieftains and delegates of the party as well the party well-wishers. This include the governors from all the PDP ruling states; executive members of the National Assembly; national party chairman and the states party chairmen; representatives of international supporters and friends; and Nigerian business tycoons. The organizing committee for the fund-raising dinner was ably chaired by Professor Jerry Gana who seemed to have delivered with enthusiasm the responsibility handed to them. This is evidenced by the huge amount of donations realized at the end of event. In simple statement, it was announced at the end of the dinner to the hearken of the amazing donors and donee that a whoopy sum of N21, 270, 000, 000.00 (twenty-one billion, two hundred and seventy million naira only), was donated to aid the presidential campaign and other electioneering activities of the party.

However, it was clearly announced that the huge sum of money donated was not singularly for President Jonathan re-election bid activities alone. The amount was said to also meant to sponsor other liabilities of the party in effect to achieve success in the forthcoming general elections in 2015.

In his remarks, President Jonathan thanked all the donors for the contributed funds and vowed to properly utilise them on the stipulated agenda which they were meant for.
