Han Jiaying participated in a popular talent show ‘Amazing Chinese’, where she showed her extraordinary abilities. In just five minutes she managed to put five animals – a frog, a chicken, a dog, a lizard and a rabbit – in a deep trance.

During the unusual performance she caresses each animal before laying them on their back and lifting up her hands. Surprisingly, the animals begin to fall asleep on their backs and lay stock-still until she shouts and they simultaneously wake up.

And although she had some difficulties with the dog and the lizard who wake up earlier, the judges and viewers looked stunned as Jiaying works her magic. The technique the girl uses is called “tonic immobility”. It is a a defense mechanism in which an animal takes on the appearance of being dead.
