Nigeria's Male And Female Football Teams Crash Out Of All Africa Games In Brazzaville

Obfuscation as Team Nigeria kissed goodbye to its hope of a gold medal in the football event at the on-going African Games in Brazaville, Congo.
This follows a setback for Dream Team VI and the Super Falcons who lost to Burkina Faso and Cameroon respectively in the semi-finals of the competition.
Nigeria U-23 team, the Dream Team VI, failed in their bid to play in the finals of the All Africa Games football event as they lost 3-1 to Burkina Faso.
They conceded very early in the game thanks to an 11thminute strike from Sydney Sylla.

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has commenced vetting of assets declaration forms submitted to it by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
An official of the CCB, who preferred not to be named yexpressed surprise over the president’s simple lifestyle.
”This is entirely unlike what one might expect from a former head of state of a country like Nigeria. The retired General has indeed been living an austere and spartan lifestyle, contrary to what many might expect of a former head of state of Nigeria and one who has held a number of top government positions, such as governor, minister of petroleum and the head of the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF)” the source said.

Why New Customs Boss Is Yet To Assume Office

President Muhammadu Buhari has recently appointed Hameed Ali as the new comptroller-general of Nigerian Customs Service, but surprisingly he is yet to assume duty.

Daily Trust reports that Ali who is yet to take his oath of office has also not showed up in his new place of work.
Sources said the former military governor of Kaduna state is not interested in taking up the post.

'FG Will Soon Start Giving Free Meals To School Children'- Prof Osinbajo

The vice-president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, revealed on Tuesday, September 1, that the Buhari administration will soon start giving out free meals to school children, therefore fulfilling one of the president’s campaign promises.

The vice president said that the free meals scheme was a core project of the federal government that would in turn yield about 1.14 million jobs and an increase in food production, The Punch reports.
