President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
The main credible feature of a good leader is to be able to stand up to the challenges of his region whenever they arrive. As a citizen of a country, it's not right while at the hem of affairs and sees things go sour, you then decide to bog instead of measuring up to the challenges as they appear on the political scene.
Just like many average Nigerians, they feel it not in form for things to have gone negative in the country where a sitting President seems to be so handicapped in tackling the situation. How can there be a president controlling the government of a country and part of the same is simultaneously run by insurgents called Boko Haram? How can one country be run by two governments under an elected President yet we claim such has the capacity to tackle such menace?...These are amongst the many interrogations that made many Nigerians think Jonathan shouldn't have run for another tenure in the office of the President of Nigeria.
Now the question is, would you vacate your seat as a president if it were you? Apart from the privileges attached to that position, would it be nice for a citizen of a country to solemnly declare he is weak to face the challenges of his fatherland? Would it be okay to see trouble in your land but only to duck and watch others to tackle it? No good citizen who loves his motherland will do this unless such wish a total collapse and catastrophe to his homeland. This is one of the reasons why GEJ isn't wrong to contest again!
For Jonathan to contest for another tenure in office is no sin but for the love of his motherland. He is only exercising his constitutional prowess and it's left for the electorates to make decision. The decision is: vote him out if you feel he is incapable or too lagging on the job. That will be better than for him to step down in an attempt to dodge the negative occurrences in the nation. It's not enough to say he shouldn't have even contested even as it is still obvious that he only asked for just one tenure during his 2011 campaign. The elelectorates have the power to change the political scene of the nation. Therefore instead of verbal criticism and continuous abuses, use the voters card to turn the political table. But I know if you were the President as GEJ, you will never refuse to run for such famous and lucrative office of the president as far the more you are qualify and eligible.
